Today’s momentous decision in Rhode v. Bonta represents a huge win in a nearly decade-long struggle against California’s ban on ammunition purchases. No single person has felt the anguish of that fight than the namesake plaintiff, Olympic champion Kim Rhode.

Joining Rhode as plaintiffs in the case were CRPA, Able’s Ammo, AMDEB Holdings, Ammunition Depot, R&S Firearms, and Sam’s Shooters Emporium. The case also garnered widespread support from many in the 2A community, including the National Rifle Association, who supported the many appeals in this case.
We don’t yet know what the state’s next move might be, but we do know that eliminating “gun culture” remains at the forefront of the agenda for many lawmakers. Thanks to all who continue to support CRPA in critical cases like this!
