California’s ammo background check law—passed under Prop 63—just suffered another defeat in the Rhode v. Bonta case. But the fight is far from over. As expected, the State has filed for an en banc review at the Ninth Circuit, attempting to overturn the recent three-judge panel victory for Second Amendment advocates.

In the latest installment of CRPA TV, host Kevin Small welcomes CRPA President Chuck Michel to break down the state’s legal strategy, the Ninth Circuit’s political makeup, and how this case could impact gun owners nationwide. We also look at the broader implications for other key 2A cases, the potential role of the Supreme Court, and why California continues to resist.

From historical analog arguments to delays designed to keep unconstitutional laws on the books, we’ll cover the legal chess game in detail—and what supporters can do to help CRPA keep winning in court.

Thanks to all of you for your continuing support! Competing with the resources of the state (not to mention Bloomberg et al) is a daunting task. Your contributions WILL help us get across the finish line!
