California’s controversial ammunition background check law is heading to the Ninth Circuit’s en banc panel in Rhode v. Bonta, a case that has already delivered multiple victories for gun owners. But with the state determined to defend its regulations—and with a court that’s shifting politically—what comes next could reshape the landscape for every law-abiding firearm owner in California.

Attorney Matt Cubeiro joins CRPA TV host Kevin Small to examine some of the more granular, but significant issues surrounding the case, including whether the ultimate decision will produce a partial victory or if it’s more “all or nothing”, and how laws passed since our initial case was filed, including the 11% excise tax, could impact the outcome.
